Metro offers Vanpool Subsidies to South Bay City Employees
Metro is working through the SBCCOG/SBESC, to promote vanpooling to city employees and multi-tenant building owners and managers. The program includes an on-going monthly subsidy of up to $400 for qualified vanpools. Vanpoolers that participate in the Metro program can save 20% to 30% off the cost of vanpooling – and up to 70% off their usual commute costs if they switch from driving alone. Metro developed an on-line cost calculator so individuals can check out how much they can save by switching to vanpooling.

The SBESC can help cities and business get started. Call Sahar Sedadi at the SBESC (310) 371-7222 or sahar@southbaycities.org for more information.
The Metro Vanpool Program is a five year $19 million dollar program Metro’s Board of Directors approved in 2006.
